Look out for an update on Google Maps as Saturday 10 March (or to put it another way: MAR10) is Mario Day! To celebrate this, Google has joined forces with Nintendo to bring you a Mario/Google Maps crossover.
The feature will be available in the latest Google Maps app update for iOS and Android.
Once you’ve updated it and entered your destination, you’ll see a yellow question mark in the bottom right – tap it and you’ll be asked if you would like to enable ‘Mario Time’. Once enabled, you get rid of the annoying default Google voice and animations and replace them with Mario!!
Once the Mario feature is activated, the arrow in Google Maps will be Mario in his red kart. Of course, you’ll hear him speak too!
The Mario guide will be available for a whole week so enjoy! March 10 is Mario day so keep an eye out for an app update on Android and iOS for the features to become available.
