Amazon has been testing a new program over the last few months where delivery people will use photos to confirm your package has been delivered. The photo of exactly where the package has been placed will be included in the notice of delivery so Amazon users know when it arrived and where it is.
Like any delivery company, packages can get lost or be undelivered with no proof as to where the parcel is. Amazon is testing this new approach so they would be able to check if drivers successfully delivered the package and customers would know exactly where to find it.
Essentially the new service provides visual confirmation that the parcel reached your address. If you were to contact Amazon Customer Services, they’d be able to verify that your parcel had been delivered.
The new service program is currently available in:
- Las Vegas
- San Francisco
- and the N
- Northern Virginia metro areas

As the program is currently live in the above noted areas. You can expect this service to be rolled out globally in time.
Customers who are concerned about this service can opt out.
