Facebook has announced updates for it’s social networking platform to include the ability for job-seekers to find new employment. The social media giant announced an expansion of its job-finding function to more than 40 countries including the UK.
The international launch comes one year after the service was launched in the United States and Canada. Facebook claims that 1 in 4 Americans now use their platform to find jobs.
It appears that Facebook will come to compete with LinkedIn as the go-to employment network for job-seekers and businesses alike.
It makes sense for Facebook to into this market. They have such a large userbase and already hold data which makes the process of applying for jobs simpler.
If you’re applying for jobs on the Facebook platform, we’d recommend that you make your profile private if there is any content that you wouldn’t want a potential employer to see.
Check Facebook for this new feature. If it’s not available on your account yet, it will be soon.
