Samsung Galaxy S9 & S9+ available for preorder
Firstly, the new S9 devices have an upgraded 2.7 GHz Octa-core processor which is not only much more powerful but also more efficient – meaning users should get longer battery life.
The main selling point of the new device is the improved camera. Samsung has announced a host of new camera features which includes:
- A super-slow-motion feature which allows moments to be captured in a new way.
- The lense improves low light so you can take clear pictures when minimal light is available.
- S9+ models now have 2 cameras much like the iPhone Plus handsets.
- You can now create AR emojis which detect your facial reactions and convert these into emojis which can be used in messaging apps.
One change that will please users, however, is the new position of the fingerprint scanner which now sits just below the camera in the middle of the device.
For the first time ever on a galaxy device, Samsung brings stereo speakers to the S9 range. You will definitely notice am improvement in sound when watching YouTube or playing your favourite songs.
The device has a headphone jack which we were surprised about. This is good news though as a lot of users prefer this instead of the headphone jack and charger ports being combined.
